Auditing

Auditing is Scientology's principal form of quasi-psychotherapy. The supposed objective of auditing is for the Scientologist to remove an engram or Body Thetan from their body by unlocking a repressed memory. This process involves one Scientologist holding E-Meter cans while an auditor guides the Scientologist through the process.

Auditing has no actual results, and is probably a tool of brainwashing more than anything else. Scientologists must pay lots of money to be audited, and they can't progress within the "church" if they do not go through auditing.
