David Miscavige (born April 30, 1960) is Chairman of the Board of the Religious Technology Center and de facto leader of Scientology. Preceeded by L. Ron Hubbard.
Miscavige joined Scientology in 1971 with his family. He dropped out of high school in 1976 to join the Sea Org. He was involved with the corporate reformation of Scientology after Operation Snow White and the prosecution of Mary Sue Hubbard. He currently splits his time between Gold Base and El Cadiz.
This handsome devil is around 5'5" tall. His nicknames among critics include Poodle, Squirrel and Asthmatic Dwarf (the last being coined by L. Ron Hubbard's daughter Diana).

Church Attorney Elliot Abelson is quoted in a January 2008 article that "the only person who runs the Church and makes policy decisions is David Miscavige."[1]
Family Life
David has a sister Denise, who is a Scientologist, and a brother, Ronald who is a former Scientologist. David's wife, Shelley, has not been seen or heard from in years and her current location is unknown. He also has a niece, Jenna Miscavige Hill, that is a prominent critic.
Abuse of staff

Several former staff members have come forth about physical abuse and insulting tirades they allege they have suffered under Miscavige.
Jeff Hawkins
Jeff Hawkins, a former advertising executive for Scientology, alleges he was assaulted on five separate occassions.[2]

Marc Headley
Marc Headley, a former Sea Org Scientologist who worked at Gold Base, alleges he was assaulted and witnessed other assaults. He has not shared details of these assaults, but he makes the allegation as part of his lawsuit.[2]

In 1984, Suppressive Person Declare was issued against David Miscavige by the Freezone and posted on alt.religion.scientology.
